Next Run Sunday 4th Jan 2015, Scottish Greetings & Sunshine Coast Run Report

The next Run is on 4th January 2015. What better way to start the year 2015 than by being lead astray by Too Mature, she and Big Ears will be your hares, so lets get the New Year rolling and we look forward to seeing you all at Yimbun Park, Sunnybank, 5 PM. UBD page 201 - B/17

In the meantime Christmas Greetings came from our Scottish based Hares Gerbils and Whippet, they have been making full use of their Hash Brolly.

Sunshine Coast Run Report

The run started by climbing all the summits along the length of Perigean Beach with great views of the hinterland. We passed by a selection of new and old properties, a high percentage were up for sale. We then turned eastwards and found out that Perigean Beach formed the last few kilometres for the walkers to amble home.

VD filled in as the RA and rewarded the Hares with a well earned down down, thanks for a good run XXXX and Crown Larger.

Our Grand mistress introduced us to Hash Virgins, No Frills and D Cup, Woody couldn't extract himself from the pool in time.

It was so good to see Holy Smoke again, she looked awesome in one of our Hash Shirts. As she had been one of our Hares  before retiring to Noosa, Sherpa awarded her a SH3 Hares Umbrella. XXXX delivered up a feast from the barbecue and Crown Larger did some lovely salads, thank Hares.

Next Run - is at Perigean Beach, Sunshine Coast

Your Hares: XXXX and Crown Larger

Location: Peregian Beach, Sunshine Coast, the address will be e-mailed out later.

NEW DATE: This run will be on SATURDAY 06th December 2014

NEW TIME:  Arrive in time for a 3 PM start.

Afterwards: There is a pool to enjoy and a Barbecue will happen.

After this our runs will revert to the usual first Sunday of the month - and a summer 5 PM start

At Iron Bark the Sauerkraut Girls laid a run and cooked the dinner for us all to enjoy. The local Kookaburra family feasted on the finest German sausages available, luck would have it that there was plenty for us as well. The salad deserves a special mention and to top it off there was a Stollen, thanks Topless it was a fun evening.

Schnapps and somebody else got a down down for setting the run

XXXX got a down down for not picking up a bottle of XXXX on the trail - does he ever open his eyes?

Next Run - Sunday 02nd November 2014 at 4 PM

Your Hares: Stubby and the Sauerkraut Girls

Location: Iron Bark Gully picnic area, Samford Rd, Ferny Hills. UBD page 117 F/17

Date: 02nd November 2014 at 4 PM

We were singing in the rain
Well in fact there wasn't a drop in sight but it was a good opportunity for the Hares to be thanked for setting runs for the SH3. Our thanks to Sherpa for getting the umbrellas printed with our logo and adding a list of all the Hares. To those of you who couldn't make it thanks Hares.

Sheldon Li jetted in from Shanghai, he said he was Li ing lo till the G20!!! He was our Hash virgin for the day,  Flower took him away with on of her songs and afterwards he said "gosh they were funny words".

Big Ears, Flower and Too Mature were given a down down for becoming members of SH3

The Hares of the day were Skiddy and Sherpa, good trails with some new paths to work up an appetite for Schnapp's On On Grub - Stubby got a down down for stirring the pot, something he does quite often.

Our GM in full swing at the SH3 AGM, thanks to those who volunteered to take us through another year. On On

Sunday 05th October 2014 - Run and AGM

Your Hares: Skidmark and Sherpa

Location: Lomandra Picnic Area, Samford Rd, Ferny Hills. UBD page 117 - C/17

Time and Date: 4PM on Sunday 05th October 2014

NOTE THE CHANGE OF LOCATION TO LOMANDRA.

Flower laid a run to the rear of Aspley AFC which then took in most of Little Cabbage Tree Creek and some surrounding terrain, hills even! Everybody choose the long run, most probably by mistake. However, it was a good choice with several suitable checks to allow a few knitters to catch up.

GM Crown Larger kept the circle amused long enough for Flower to arrange a feast in the form a delicious curry.

We welcomed Bootee back, as you can see she hasn't changed a bit as she demonstrated how to slug it back. Flower did a grand job of leading us astray and keeping us well fed on what turned out to be a chilli evening, thanks for that. Our next Run will be the AGM for Inc, we look forward to seeing you all then. On On

Next Run Sunday 07th September 2014 & a Run Report

Your Hare: Flower - of the petal kind.

Location: Rotary Park on the Cnr of Gympie Rd and Graham Rd. Park in the Gym car park for access to the Park.

When: Sunday 07th September 2014 at 4 PM

The Last Run: Thanks to the efforts of Grouse Sheila - it went like this:

While Stubby and Schnapps were sorely missed, the pack did manage to find
its way around the scenic trails of Enoggera Creek.
After a wander along the bike paths, the drink stop was served at the location of former Gap Pony
Club, now taken over by large numbers of dogs and their humans.
The walkers arrived first, followed by the runners who were also masquerading as
walkers, but assured me that they had taken the runners trail.
The trail then headed along the creek bank, with the, by now, thoroughly confused pack
not realising that they passed within about 20m of the on home, on the
opposite bank!
There was only one hill on the trail but I made sure it was a decent one, and the pack was greatly appreciative.
After a quick trot through some suburban streets and trails, the pack arrived back at the
beautifully lit pergola for the usual post-run shenanigans.

As we waited for the Hares and Co Sherpa decided to tie the laces of her NEW SHOES
Half of the Beer family
The GM had us spellbound
Flower was our song master
Skidmark and Grouse Sheila forgot which hand to raise for the Down Down. Soon after we tucked into a Chilli Con Carne that had an After Burner, wow this is how chilli should be made and the Hash gave it a big thumbs up. Thanks Crown Larger and to XXXX as well for the crafty run. On On

Next Run - Sunday 06th July 2014 - Some photos of the last run.

Your Hares: XXXX and Crown Larger

Location: Dorrington Park, 48 Frasers Road, Ashgrove. UBD page 138 - N/17

Time: It will be at 4 PM

Here are some shots of the last run:

We gathered on the banks of the Brisbane River upstream from the Brisbane Rowing Club.  Story Teller (on the left) was welcomed to the Hash, she had "retired" from Brunei and was on route to Melbourne, she excitedly brought all the ex Brunei Hashers up to date with all the unprintable news. Abacuss (3rd from left) was another welcome addition, she joined us for the first time and hails from Bayside.
Here is Tess at the START. I said which way is the On and she dropped her left ear - if only we had the brains of a Collie we'd never have to CHECK anymore. Thanks to the Hares Too Mature and Big Ears who stepped in at short notice.
Here are a few of us after the run. Story Teller managed to tell us at least 3 stories before we decided to do the On On. We were catered for by Pot Luck which as usual turned out to be a real feast with plenty to take home. As the RA was away all the misbehaviour went un noticed and we all had plenty to smile about.                   UBD Page 21 - 17/F

Time: 4 PM

Last Run Report:

Spot the Hare - in fact the white spot is the leader of the Pack. This descent from Camp Mt led us to the source of the Kedron River and then we followed a trail onto the old railway extension that goes up towards Dayboro. By this time the runners were well ahead and the checks had been laid through.
Schnapps and Stubby had set up Base Camp with the help of Sherpa.  Table and chairs were all set as the moon came up and we sat and laughed below a gallery of stars. The Hash Hoodies kept the evening chill away, were going to see more of them over the next months.
Crown Larger welcomed Jack Off and Slow Cum who had come all the way from Singapore to Hash with us. There timing was perfect as Schnapps had prepared a Laksa for the evening - so they really felt at home. Flower lead us with a few Hash songs, Spice Girl got a Down Down and we all had Laksa as seconds. Good evening all round.

Next Run: Sunday 04th May 2014 at 4 PM

Your Hares: Stubby and Schnapps

Location: Lanita St, Ferny Hills. UBD page 136 - P/1 Hint: Exit Samford Road onto Camp Mt Rd, then left into McLean Rd South - Lenita St is on the left. TIME: 4 PM

Schnapps will do something special????

Last Run:

Storms and lightning all over the South East is what it takes to get Hashers out and about. We gathered in Bowman park, RA Skid Mark did his magic and the rain ceased - it couldn't be helped that most of the flower was gone. Of course the most important Flower set off with us, but soon after she decided to Hash different trails, cunningly end up at the same exit point as all the rest of us - I guess she was worried Stubby might meet her at a puddle - but thats another story.
VD seldom gives up the opportunity for free beer and Crown Larger had him in the sin bin a couple of times
Sherpa made a dash to the seaside and came back with fish and chips with calamari, it didn't last long. Thanks Hares we enjoyed it all.

Next Run - 06th April 2014 - Start time 4PM

Your Hares: Skidmark and Sherpa

Location: Bowman Park, Cnr of Simpsons and Chiswick Roads, Bardon. UBD Page 158 - L/6

Time: Change to WINTER TIME of 4 PM

Last Run:
We homed in on our Hares XXXX and Crown Larger who set the run in Grinstead Park.  As luck would have it the Irish were out in force practicing on the Bag Pipes for Saint Patricks Day - thankfully they had gone by the time we returned.
The FRB's and the rest of the Pack set off into an area that the Hash has not run in before and we were soon climbing hills and more often than not admiring the bushland trails. The Checks were frequent, but the On was usually within sight of Check - so we added in the odd re-group just to keep within shouting distance.
Our Grand Mistress managed the Circle, later and Skiddy told us a couple of jokes - 2 because the first one we'd already heard at the last run, but it was worth repeating. Later we were well fed. Thanks Hares, it was a good run and fun evening.

Next Run - 02nd March 2014 at 5 PM

Your Hares: The Beer family

Location: Grinstead Park, Shand St, Alderley. UBD Page 139 - D/8

Time: 5 PM

You are invited to Run, Walk, FROTH and Feed with the SH3 Inc.

The Year of the Horse was a real stampede as we took to the hills of Mt Coot-Tha
All the TV Stations on Mt Coot-Tha joined forces to welcome in the Year of the Horse

We gathered together under the watchful eye of the custodian of the forest - you guessed right, it wasn't Brisbane City Council

I wasn't long before an immigrant appeared. This one was called Li Ing Lo, in fact he has been doing that for exactly a Chinese Year.

Now the run - oh you are expecting it - was a real Hoot as we set out to greet the Horse. However, when we reached the top the Horse had bolted. All we found was a Chinese pony, we nicknamed him Ti Nee. We then continued on on, great trails and good back checks. We made our way back down and we greeted by the lost nomads of the Forest in the form of Bootee and Biggus Dickus, a very welcome sight. We then played Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, just missing out on a Gold Coast mansion by the sea. Oh well I guess there will be another draw. We all won a good feed with Sweet and Sour and then had Down Downs for all the right reasons. Thanks Hares.

Next Run - Sunday 02nd February 2014 at 5 PM

Your Hares: Verbal Diarrhoea and Bite n Suck

Location: Simpson Falls picnic area, Sir Samuel Griffith Dr, Mt Coot-Tha. UBD Page 158 - D/10

When: Sunday 02nd February 2014 at 5 PM

Last run with photos:
We took over the circle at the top of Mt Gravatt for what was to be the finest Hash this year. The Hares used every nook and cranny of the Mt Gravatt Reserve to provide us with trails that did not venture out of the canopy. Crafty checks and dead ends kept the Hash together and gave the FRB's a chance to stretch their legs. Flower said she'd lived in Brisbane for XXX years and never been to this Reserve, it was a first for many others as well.
While Tess watched out for stray cats our Grand Mistress gave Too Mature and Big Ears a Down Down for their efforts
3 Virgins to the Hash were commended for their FRB's abilities.
Flower provided the Hash with some humorous songs during the Circle
Sinners all of them - after finishing the ginger beer we headed to the first Circle and devoured some fine pasta, thanks Hares we enjoyed it all.
